About Roze Zaterdag
On Saturday, June 28th, the city of Zaandam turned pink in celebration of Roze Zaterdag. Visitors gathered to enjoy a festive day filled with live performances, a silent disco, an information market, and the colorful ZaanPride parade. More than 20,000 people went to Zaandam to stand together for equality.
Throughout the day, crowds were treated to performances by
Karin Bloemen, Turfy Gang, Berget Lewis,
Janey Jacké, Dave Dekker, various choirs, and DJs. The celebration took place across seven different locations in the city center, with an additional tournament held in the surrounding area. Over the course of three days, Zaandam offered a diverse range of activities for Pride visitors.
Roze Zaterdag takes place in a different Dutch city each year. Next year, the event will take place in Noordwijk. This edition marked the first time the Zaanstreek region hosted the oldest Pride event in the Netherlands.
