Jun 2016 | Bethel Woods | ID&T
MysteryLand is the oldest electronic dance music festival of the Netherlands and has evolved over the past two decades into a 2-day camping festival. In 2014, the festival’s promotor, ID&T, made the bold move of organizing the inaugural MysteryLand USA on the original Woodstock grounds in Bethel Woods, NY, something no other promotor had been able to do in 35 years.
Moved from Memorial Day weekend to the warmer month of June, the third edition of MysteryLand USA booked bigger names and attracted larger crowds than in previous years. For the third year in a row, Backbone was hired as the technical, overlay and decor producer. Our crew was involved in every aspect of the production of this festival, from sound and lighting, to fencing and tents. Next to that, the Backbone team was also there ensuring the stages looked perfect and were ready for the artists to perform and putting art installations in place throughout the festival site for the patrons to enjoy.
Once again, Backbone successfully turned the legendary Woodstock ’69 grounds into a world-class experience of music, culture, arts, and camping, while staying within the budgets and deadlines set by the promotor.
