Electric Zoo: Evolved

Aug 2019 | New York | LiveStyle, Inc.

Event information:

Electric Zoo is an annual electronic music festival taking place during Labor Day weekend on Randall’s Island in New York City. Since the inaugural edition in 2009, Electric Zoo has been on a transformative journey leading up to this year’s theme, Electric Zoo: Evolved.

With a wide variety of electronic music subgenres divided over 4 stages, the festival featured well known artists like Eric Prydz, Armin van Buuren and Oliver Heldens, but also offered a platform for underground artists. With 37.000 visitors it was sold out, and the best attended edition in the history of the last 11 years of Electric Zoo Festival.

Role Backbone:

Backbone International was responsible for the production management, technical production, overlay management, decor production, and site operations of this event. All stages were a complete custom build with a unique and custom design by Andrew Gumper.

As always, weather can be unpredictable. We had wonderful weather for the show itself, but during both the ten-day load in and the five-day load out there was some severe weather, that definitely made the work more difficult. Our North American team was able to push through however, and complete all work that needed to be done in order to put on a successful and safe festival.
