Oct 2018 | Amsterdam | ALDA
In 2013 the dance industry in the Netherlands celebrated its 25th anniversary with the start of the biggest event of ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event), the Amsterdam Music Festival (AMF). After years of growing bigger, fans could get closer than ever to their favorite artist in 2018, because of the brand new party pit behind the dj booth. With the AMF hotel the sentence eat, sleep, rave, repeat got a whole new meaning.
Backbone was responsible for technical production & technical design as well as the overlay management. The AMF is characterized by a challenging but astonishing stage design created by 250K. Backbone translated this stage design into technical and logistical reality. Next to the technical realization of the stage design, Backbone was also responsible for the site production of the Johan Cruijf Arena as well as the outside area.
This massive operation was managed by a production manager and technical producer provided by Backbone, responsible for the entire production process, budgeting and logistics.
Due to a Champions League soccer game the Backbone International team only received a 24 hour time window in which the pitch was covered for the complete load in, show and load out. Special feature however was the trussing construction in the roof of the arena with LED, which optically lowered the ceiling resembling a more club like feeling. Although this is a logistical nightmare for most companies, our team got praised for getting this job done accurately and efficiently.
