About 538 Koningsdag 2025

538 Koningsdag 2025 was an epic 11-hour non-stop show featuring 47 (!!) performances on a single stage. The lineup included top (Dutch) artists, bands, and DJs such as Yves Berendse, Bankzitters, Chef’Special, Davina Michelle, and Kensington celebrating our King’s Birthday. A 12.5-meter diameter rotating stage made this packed schedule possible, allowing seamless transitions between acts.

Role of Backbone

Our Backbone team worked closely with Radio538, overseeing every aspect of 538 Koningsdag, from technical design to technical production, production management, and overlay management.

A unique element of this event is its location, which consists of a central square and a section beneath one of the city’s major roads. To ease crowd flow and prevent congestion along the festival’s perimeter, a bridge was built this year linking the VIP deck directly to the VIP restroom area, helping keep the city center open and accessible.
