About AMF 2026

AMF 2026 (Amsterdam Music Festival) was one of the highlights of the Amsterdam Dance Event. At the Johan Cruyff Arena, thousands of fans came together to experience performances by Armin van Buuren, David Guetta, Amelie Lens, and many more.

Role of Backbone

With an Ajax match at the ArenA just before the festival, the team had only 36 hours to build the entire production. An unconventional approach was essential. So, in the week leading up to the event, the team pre-rigged part of the production by suspending sections of the set from the stadium roof, a first for a production of this kind. The team fully assembled and suspended all three crosses from the roof in advance, saving valuable time during the final build. The build took 40 hours, the show ran for 8 hours, and load-out took 16 hours.

Backbone handled the production management, technical production, technical design, and overlay management for this event.
