Aug 2026 | Hilvarenbeek, The Netherlands | B2S
The 2026 edition of the Decibel Outdoor Festival brought around 100,000 visitors together across three days, with more than 300 artists performing across the site, including Brennan Heart, The Darkraver and Sub Zero Project.
For Backbone, this meant transforming a 40-hectare festival site with 11 different areas. Commissioned by B2S, our team was responsible for the technical design, technical production, and overlay management, delivering the complete site transformation in just 18 days. This year’s build came with an additional challenge: after a long period of dry weather, heavy rainfall made the site conditions particularly difficult. Working with changing ground conditions and a large-scale outdoor site required constant flexibility and close coordination.
Our scope also included all temporary infrastructure across the site, including backstage and hospitality tents, fencing and crowd barriers, signage, and bar setups.
For the campsite, our team was responsible for the overlay management for the second consecutive year. From site layout and infrastructure to facilities and the overall visitor experience, every detail had to come together to create a temporary home for thousands of Decibel visitors.
