Jun 2026 | Amsterdam, The Netherlands | Gashouder
On Saturday, 20th of June, at the iconic Gashouder, Hildur Guðnadóttir’s award-winning score for the HBO series Chernobyl was performed, as part of the Holland Festival. The audience could experience an immersive audiovisual production that brought the human impact of this historic event to life.
Set beneath the familiar roof of Gashouder, the audience surrounded a central performance space. At the same time, a spatial audio system carried sound throughout the venue, from almost whisper-quiet moments to overwhelming crescendos. The artist envisioned an industrial, raw setting for this performance, making the Gashouder the perfect location to bring that vision to life.
