On Liberation Day, May 5th, Bevrijdingsfestival Utrecht 2026 took place at Park Transwijk. This year, Utrecht proudly served as the host province of the national celebrations on Liberation Day. The festival was officially opened by Prime Minister Rob Jetten, marking the launch of all Liberation festivals nationwide.
48,000 visitors attended Bevrijdingsfestival Utrecht to celebrate freedom. The 2026 edition featured performances by Rolf Sanchez, Numidia, Russo, and many other artists across two stages, plus one area dedicated to kids ánd of course the food court.

Role of Backbone

Our Backbone team supported production by delivering detailed overlay designs that served as the foundation for the building and municipal teams to shape the festival grounds. They also led technical production and overlay management, overseeing key elements including production rentals, power supply, fencing, and GPS-based layout measurements.
