For FC Utrecht’s European matches, the municipality created the FC Utrecht Fan Meeting Point to safely guide international supporters and help prevent disturbances in the city. So far, there have been four editions of the FC Utrecht Fan Meeting Points. During this fifth edition, fans from Nottingham Forest were welcomed to the square. From 12:00 PM onward, fans were invited to Janskerkhof, where seating, food, music, and beverages were available. For yesterday’s match against Nottingham Forest, the fan meeting points were expanded compared to previous editions. Not only fans heading to the stadium, but also those without a ticket were welcome at the square — and for the first time, supporters could watch the game live at Janskerkhof.
Backbone handled the technical production, overlay management, and technical design. Given the increased scale of this fifth edition, we also assumed responsibility for the back-office operations.
