On June 8th, during Belgium’s Sinkensfest, the Broeltorens in Kortrijk hosted the first edition of Red Bull Vel’eau. Thirty-four daring teams of two took on the quirky and challenging course aboard their one-of-a-kind, custom-built “Vel’eaus.” Fun fact: Vel’eau is a playful Belgian twist combining vélo (bike) and eau (water). The course consists of wild obstacles, from wobbly ramps with sprayers to bumpy cobblestones and narrow passages. Teams competed across three categories: fastest run, most creative (a mix of bike design and costume), and best performance/entertainment value.

The competition was judged by a jury, including Koen Wauters, Lies Vandenberghe, Tom Boonen, Timon Verbeeck, and Shauna Dewit. Tom Waes hosted the entire afternoon.
