New Dutch Wave at SXSW was held in Austin, Texas, and is part of a massive city-wide event that offers interactive experiences and exhibits for music, film, technology, and multi-media. Once a year, the city of Austin is saturated with carefully curated workshops, conferences, trade shows, discussions, and live music.
As Backbone’s first SXSW, it was an exciting opportunity to co-sponsor two patron-facing venues with the Dutch Impact Party Group. Two hot Austin clubs, Swan Dive and Barbarella, were transformed into the New Dutch Wave House. Each venue hosted Holland’s rising technology leaders, design innovators, and, of course, the hottest music talent.
While overcoming tricky location elements, Backbone assisted with the production coordination of all elements in each house. For five days, Backbone was onsite to help manage a highly successful first edition of the New Dutch Wave House.
