Apr 2021 | Makassar | Fabulous Indonesia

About the event:

On behalf of Fabulous Indonesia, The Nestlé Lactogrow – Grow Happy Fantasea Drive Thru took place in the parking area of the Phinisi Point Mall in Makassar, Indonesia from the 2nd to the 4th of April, 2021. This was the first ever drive-thru tunnel “edutainment” theme park in Indonesia, and the first ever family entertainment concept during the pandemic. The drive-thru event offered visitors the excitement of an undersea and educational experience about nutrition and health through the use of interactive laser gameplay, projections, and audio and visual entertainment. The tunnel held a capacity of 300 cars per day and ran from 8AM – 8PM local time. The event was also held in accordance to the COVID-19 health and safety protocols that had been in place. Audiences experienced an underwater concept, driving through nearly 100m of tunnel structures. More than 24 projectors were installed in the tunnels that gave children the chance to learn about healthy habits through a set narrative. With the use of a laser pointer, visitors could aim at interactive projections that set off different audial and visual entertainment.

Backbone’s role:

Backbone handled the technical production and was made the COVID-19 protocol task force. The crew worked alongside Abox on audio and video projection, NBEE on tunnel and set decor, and HaluuWorld as the creative team. For a total of 3 show days, the drive-thru event took 9 days to load in along with 2 media and KOL days. Load-out lasted for a full 2 days.

Despite challenges like the severe weather storms, the event was able to go on for two days, resulting in a new form of entertaining and educational experiences for Indonesian families, who found new ways to experience entertainment and engagement together. This left families with not only newfound knowledge, but unforgettable moments through a unique experience while remaining safely in their cars for the event.
