Electric Zoo is an annual electronic music festival on Randall’s Island in New York City. The festival features a wide variety of electronic music genres and brings together top international DJs, live acts, and underground artists. Since its inaugural event in 2009, Electric Zoo has been an oasis of music and arts, attracting colorfully dressed people from all over the city and country during Labor Day weekend.
With big names such as Bassnectar, Tiesto, and Hardwell headlining the 2016 edition and more live acts than previous editions, Electric Zoo 2016 needed a strong partner to handle production.
After a successful collaboration in 2015, EZ Festivals hired Backbone again for the 2016 edition. Backbone was once again responsible for production management and technical production of the five stages.
Next to that, Backbone was responsible for overlay management and decor production.
For the first time, one of the stages was promoted by a different partner each day, so all the decor had to be changed overnight for the stage to look completely different the next day.
